This policy explains what personal information MM8 Studio collects through mm8.studio, why, where it goes and how long it is kept. MM8 Studio is a sole proprietorship based in Edmonton, Alberta, and is responsible for the personal information described here.

What we collect
You can read this website without telling us who you are. We collect personal information only when you send us an enquiry through the contact form, or when you email or call us directly.
The contact form asks for your name, email address, business or organization and a description of what needs to work better. You can also give your phone number, your website, the kind of help you need and an approximate budget. Those extra fields are optional.
We use this information to reply to you, to understand whether we are a good fit and to follow up about your enquiry. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for unrelated marketing without your consent. If you would rather not use the form, you can email or call us instead.
Where an enquiry goes
When you send the form, the website emails your enquiry to hello@mm8.studio. That email is sent through Google’s Gmail service, and our domain registrar, Namecheap, forwards hello@mm8.studio to MM8’s Gmail inbox.
The website keeps a copy of each email it sends, so we can confirm it was delivered. That copy is deleted automatically after 14 days.
The same details are also sent to HighLevel, the system we use to keep track of enquiries and follow up on them. HighLevel receives the fields you filled in, the date and time and a note that the enquiry came from this website.
Information collected when you visit
Like most websites, our hosting server records each request it receives, including your internet address, browser type and the page requested. We use these records to keep the website running and secure. They are deleted after about 30 days.
The website uses fonts provided by Google. To show them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your internet address and basic browser information.
Pages with a contact form use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real people apart from automated spam. Cloudflare receives your internet address and information about your browser and device to make that check. The form also has a hidden field and a timer that stop spam without collecting anything about you.
Our website does not set any cookies of its own for visitors, and it does not use analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Cloudflare’s check runs in its own frame and is covered by Cloudflare’s privacy policy. People who sign in to manage the website receive sign in cookies; visitors do not.
Storage outside Canada
Our website is hosted on servers in Toronto. Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States: Google for email and fonts, Namecheap for email forwarding, HighLevel for enquiry records and Cloudflare for spam protection. Information held outside Canada may be accessed by courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under the laws of those countries.

How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails and enquiry records for as long as we are discussing work with you. If an enquiry does not lead to work, we delete it within 24 months of our last contact. If you become a client, we keep the records needed for the work and for tax and legal purposes for as long as the law requires, which for business records is usually six years.
Backup copies of the website can include the 14 day email copy described above. We keep website backups only as long as they are useful for restoring the site, and no longer than 12 months.
How we protect it
The website uses an encrypted connection, and enquiry emails are sent over an encrypted connection. Access to the website, the email inbox and the enquiry system is limited to MM8 and protected by passwords, and repeated failed sign in attempts are blocked.
Your access and correction rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it, unless we need to keep it for a legal reason. You can also withdraw your consent to us using it, with reasonable notice. Email hello@mm8.studio and we will reply within 45 days, as Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act requires.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and its effective date.
